The United States of America is 248 years old today.

The American Revolutionary War and the US Declaration of Independence did many Firsts in the World.

It:

Ended British Colonial Rule in the 13 Colonies.

Gave Independence to the USA.

It was the end of the First British Empire.

It began the Age of Revolution.

It created the World's First Federal Republic founded on the Consent of the Governed.

It was the World’s First permanently successful overthrow of Monarchical Colonial Rule.

It created the World’s Oldest Permanent Constitution in current effect.

It created the World’s First Official Guarantees of Inalienable and Natural Rights.

It created the Oldest Federal Republic still in existence.

So not only is the 4th of July an American Holiday, but also an example for the Whole World – 248 years on.

We have withstood a Civil War, Segregation, an Attempted Coup, World Wars, etc. and are still the only Country that People all over the World wish to be like and live in.
