^ I remember these well (since I
took so many pictures.)
When we lived in Germany my Dad
made us send our film to York, Pennsylvania to get it developed which took a
month to do (2 weeks in the mail each way and 1 week to develop.)
That was so annoying, but when
they finally came in the mail it was exciting to see if the pictures even came
out.
I also remember going to 1 hour
Photo Places (in Massachusetts, Virginia, New York, etc.) and always being
asked "When I want the pictures back?" and I would always reply
"In an hour" and they would always look at me as though I had told
them I was going to live on Mars.
In Yaroslavl, Russia I would get
my film developed at an overnight place (you knew it could be done in an hour,
but they needed more time to make copies and see if you were taking any
pictures of "State Secret" Places - which can be anyplace or anything
in Russia.)
I always came home from my 5
trips to Russia with lots of undeveloped film in my carry-on and would get it
developed in the US.
No matter how I got them
developed it was always fun to get them back. ^
