Visiting History

I’ve been to many Battlefields and Museums.

Since today is Independence Day, I will focus on the places I’ve been to related to the Revolutionary War (1775-1783.)

I’ve Been to and Seen:

Lexington, Massachusetts and Concord, Massachusetts (The Shot Heard Around the World.)

Boston (The Boston Tea Party, The Siege of Boston and 1 if by Land 2 if by Sea.)

Fort Ticonderoga, New York (The Capture of Fort Ticonderoga and the Siege of Fort Ticonderoga.)

Long Island (The Battle of Long Island.)

Trenton, New Jersey (The Battle of Trenton.)

Bennington, Vermont (The Battle of Bennington.)

Valley Forge, Pennsylvania (Where George Washington and the Continental Army Wintered.)

Saratoga, New York (The Battle of Saratoga – the Turning Point of the War.)

Savannah, Georgia (The Battle of Savannah and the Siege of Savannah.)

Charleston, South Carolina (The Siege of Charleston.)

Yorktown, Virginia (The Siege of Yorktown, the British Surrender.)

Philadelphia Pennsylvania (Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell.)

Paris, France (where The Treaty of Paris ending the American Revolution was signed between the United States and the United Kingdom.)

When I was a Kid I went to Re-Enactments and met many of the Reenactors (on and off the Battlefield.)
