I'm watching a Baking Competition Show and the European Judges are constantly saying the Americans' Desserts are too sweet.
Of course they are.
As an American who loves Desserts
and has lived in Germany (twice) and in Russia (twice) and travelled all over
Europe I know there is a huge difference between European and American
Desserts.
European Desserts look amazing
but are usually very bland.
My Mom used to say that they
looked great, but tasted like cardboard.
All because they don't use much
sugar or sweetners and they tend to focus on the look rather than the taste.
I'm sure my European Friends out
there will disagree and say just the opposite.
