Andau And Narva

During the Hungarian Uprising and the Soviet Invasion that followed in from October 23- November 4, 1956 70,000 Hungarians crossed this small bridge (the Bridge at Andau) from Communist Hungary to Neutral-Western Austria (part of the 200,000 Hungarians who fled the country.)

(The Bridge at Andau)

Those 70,000 People had to leave most things behind since cars and even large carts couldn’t make it against the border bridge – then they had to walk 6 miles to the Austrian town of Andau with a population of 3,000 People including a large Hungarian Minority.

They fled because they didn’t want to live under Soviet Dictatorship.

(The Narva Bridge)

Since Russia Invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022 4 Million Russians have fled Russia (this doesn’t include the Russians who were already outside the country before the War started.)

The vast majority of Russians (and Ukrainians that were forcibly deported by the Russian Occupiers from the parts of Ukraine under their control) have fled through Estonia – particularity the border city of Narva. Narva has a population of 54,000 People and is 85% Ethnically Russian. Since Estonia is part of the EU (and NATO) it is seen as a safe place for Russians fleeing Putin and his Nazi Zs.

They are fleeing because they don’t want to live under Russian Dictatorship.

66 years later and Freedom-Loving People continue to be forced to flee the Russians.
