Mariupol And Warsaw

(Polish Soldiers surrendering to the Germans in Warsaw, Poland on October 2, 1944.)

(Injured Ukrainian Soldiers from Mariupol arriving in Russian-Occupied Novoazovsk, Ukraine on May 17, 2022.)

Just under 1,000 Ukrainian Fighters from the Azovstal Steel Plant in Mariupol, Ukraine have surrendered to the Russians during the Siege of Mariupol (February 24- May 17, 2022.)

It reminds me of when the Fighters of Poland’s Home Army surrendered to the Germans during the Warsaw Uprising (August 1-October 2, 1944.)

During the Warsaw Uprising the Germans committed War Crimes (ie. the Wola Massacre, etc.) The German Nazis sent the Polish Soldiers and 700,000 Civilians to German Concentration and Death Camps.

During the Siege of Mariupol the Russians committed War Crimes (ie. Mariupol Hospital Airstrike, Mariupol Theater Airstrike, etc.) Russian Nazis are sending the Ukrainian Soldiers and 15,000 (so far) Civilians to Russian Filtration Camps.

Today Poland honors and remembers the brave Men and Women of the Warsaw Uprising against the Germans.

Today Ukraine honors and remembers the brave Men and Women of the Siege of Mariupol against the Russians.
