Time Of Honor
“Time Of Honor” (Polish: “Czas Honoru”)
is a Polish Television Series about World War 2 from TVP2 that aired from
2008-2014.
Set in German-Occupied Poland from
1939-1944 (Seasons 1, 2,3, 4 and 7) and in Post-War Poland 1945-1946 (Seasons 5
and 6), the series tells a story of Union of Armed Struggle/Armia Krajowa/Armed
Forces Delegation for Poland Soldiers commonly referred to as “Cichociemni” (The
Silent Unseen.)
The Cichociemni were Elite Operations
Paratroopers of the Polish Government-In-Exile (in London) that trained in the
UK and sent into German-Occupied Poland.
A total of 2,613 Polish Army Soldiers
volunteered for training by Polish and British SOE Operatives, but only 606 People
completed the training, and eventually 316 of them were secretly Parachuted
into Occupied-Poland.
Of the 316 Cichociemni, 103 died during
the War: in combat with the Germans, executed by the Gestapo, or in crashes. A
further 9 were executed after the War by the Polish People's Republic; the Soviet
and Polish Communist Regime was hostile to the Cichociemni and considered them to
be British Ideologized Infiltrators.
Time of Honor stars Polish Actors and
Actresses: Jan Wieczorkowski, Antoni Pawlicki, Maciej
Zakościelny, Jakub Wesołowski, Krystian
Wieczorek , Piotr Adamczyk, Jan Englert, Katarzyna Gniewkowska, Agnieszka Więdłocha, Piotr Żurawski, Krzysztof Globisz, Anna

Time Of Honor depicts many real-life Events
and Programs that occurred during and right after World War 2:
The Palmiry Massacre where from
1939-1941 the Germans murdered 1,700 Polish and Jewish Political, Cultural and
Intellectual Elite.
The “Action NW” created by the
German Abwehr and the Gestapo to Infiltrate the Polish Home Army and the Polish
Government-In-Exile in London.
The “Hotel Polski Affair” the
German Program that enticed Polish Jews hiding in the Non-Jewish Part of Warsaw
after the 1943 Warsaw Ghetto Uprising to pay money to obtain South American and
British Mandatory Palestinian Passports with the promise that they could leave
German-Occupied Europe. 2,500 Polish Jews were kept at the Hotel Polski in
Warsaw and either killed right there or sent to the Death Camps.
Operation Highlander
where the Polish Home Army hijacked a German Bank Car from the German
Reichsbank with 10 Million Zlotys ($255,194.28 US Dollars in 2024) in it.
The Friedrichstrasse Railway Station
Bombing where the Polish Home Army bombed the Railway Station in the Nazi
German Capital of Berlin in 1943 killing 14 and wounding 60.
The "Oflag VII A
Murnau" – a German Prisoner-Of-War Camp (Oflag) for Polish Officers
during World War II, located in Bavaria in the city of Murnau am Staffelsee,
liberated on April 29, 1945 by the American 12th Armored Division.
The "Pawiak" –
the largest German Prison in the General Government of German-Occupied Poland,
located on Pawia Street in Warsaw used by the Germans from 1939 until it was
destroyed during the Warsaw Uprising in 1944. 100,000 Polish Men, Women and
Children passed through Pawiak. 37,000 of them were killed at Pawiak and 60,000
were shipped to Death Camps and Concentration Camps.
The Kidnapping and Trial of 16
Leaders of the Polish Underground State, including General Leopold
Okulicki, Deputy Prime Minister Jan Stanisław Jankowski and Chairman of the RJN
Kazimierz Pużak, by the Soviet NKVD under the command of Colonel Pimenov, from
Pruszków to Moscow on March 27,28, 1945 where a Communist Show Trial was held.
The Warsaw Uprising –
including its individual episodes, such as: the Capture of the Waffen-SS Warehouses
at Stawki Street, the Liberation of 348 Jews from the KL Warschau Camp at Gęsia
Street ("Gęsiówka"), Executions in the "Police District",
the Massacre of Wola (65,000 Polish Men, Women and Children were murdered by
the Germans), the Pacification of Ochota, the Defense of the Old Town, Using
the Sewers as Transportation and the Expulsion of 550,000 inhabitants of Warsaw
to the Transit Camp in Pruszków.
Time Of Honor also shows other
things that occurred during and right after World War 2:
Nur für Deutsche (Only For
Germans): Official Districts, Transportation, Parks, Cinemas, Restaurants, etc.
that only Germans could use in German-Occupied Poland and Europe under Penalty
of Death.
The Judenrat (Jewish
Councils) created by the Germans to carry out their Orders in the different
Ghettos (created and ran the Jewish Police Force to keep German Order, the
Distribution of Housing and Food, selecting those for Forced Labor and
selecting those to be deported to the Death Camps)
The Volksdeutsche (Ethnic
Germans living outside of Germany itself that didn’t hold German Citizenship.)
They were still treated as Germans (“The Master Race”) by the Nazis. By 1945
there were 8.7 Million Registered Volksdeutsche.
Jewish Converts to
Christianity were treated as Jews (forced to wear the Star of David Armband,
forced to live in the Warsaw Ghetto and Deported to the Death Camps) if they
had even 1 Jewish Grandparent. They were allowed to attend Church inside the
Ghetto.
Grossaktion Warsaw (Great
Action Warsaw) when the Germans deported 265,000 Jewish Men, Women and Children
from the Warsaw Ghetto to the Treblinka Death Camp from July 23, 1942 to
September 21, 1942.
Lapanka (Round-Up) the
Germans would block off an entire Street and any Polish Man, Woman or Child
caught on the Street or in their Home or Business would be taken as Forced
Labor to Germany. From 1939-1944 an average of 400 Poles living in Warsaw were
caught in Lapankas every day.
The difference and hatred
between the Polish Government-In-Exile in London and the Polish Committee of
National Liberation in Moscow. During and after the War the Soviet and Polish
Communists killed any Pole who was with the London Government including those
in the Polish resistance fighting the Germans in German-Occupied Poland.
The Post War Treatment of the German
and Volksdeutsche by the Soviet and Polish Communists: in 1945 4.6 Million
Germans lived under Polish and Soviet Control. By 1950, 3,155,000 had been
transported to Germany, 1,043,550 were Forcibly Naturalized as Polish Citizens
and 170,000 German Citizens still remained in Poland. 400,000 Germans were
killed.
How the Soviet and Polish
Communists censored the Holocaust in Poland, the Warsaw Uprising and the
1939 Soviet Invasion of eastern Poland after World War 2.
How Warsaw was 90% destroyed
by the Germans during the War and had to be rebuilt.
