40 years ago today (June 22,
1984) “Top Secret” premiered.
It starred Val Kilmer (in his
Film Debut Role) Lucy Gutteridge, Omar Sharif, Peter Cushing, Michael Gough,
and Jeremy Kemp.
It’s an Action-Comedy poking fun
at 1950s Rock-N-Roll and World War 2 Spy Movies, but updated to include East
Germany and the Communists instead of Nazi Germany and the Nazis.
It made $20 Million Dollars on a
Budget of $9 Million Dollars (that’s $756 Million Dollars and $340 Million
Dollars in 2024.)
I have liked this movie since I
was a Kid.
