I have just learned that my Former Middle School Teacher from passed away this morning.
She was my
Band, AVID and Show Choir Teacher (I still have the Videos of everything) and
went to Malta on our School Trip with her as our Chaperone. Also, my Mom worked
with her Husband.
When I was in
College in Massachusetts I randomly sent a letter Germany with her name on it.
Another Former Teacher I had knew me and her and forwarded it to her house in
Georgia. We then stayed in touch through E-Mail until she joined Facebook.
I visited her
in Georgia on July 2006. My Mom and I were at Fort Benning, helping my Brother,
Sister-In-Law, Niece and Nephew move into their new home and she lived in
Peachtree City. I drove up to her house and she helped me celebrate my Belated
Birthday.
In December
2014, while I was still learning to be a Genealogist, she asked me to make her
a Family Tree. After a lot of learning curves I finished it – my first Family
Tree.
In 2016 or 2017 I was supposed to
go visit her at her home in Tennessee (I had my Flights, Hotel and Rental Car
all booked) but her Daughter got Cancer and so I had to cancel the trip.
Sadly, some of
her Family didn’t like that we were in contact (or that I knew so much about
their Family) and so convinced her to stop talking to me for the last 2 ½ years
of her life. Despite that I still checked-in with her (when Covid started, on
her 75th Birthday, etc.) and she replied every time.
I made a
Donation in her Memory to (which she wanted):
