Tree & Water

Here is an update on my Tree Emergency:

Yesterday (May 21, 2021) a tree removal company came and removed the broken tree and 3 other trees. They did a good job before and during the work (they kept in contact with me before, gave me an estimate and did the removal within 7 days.)

I tried to deal with other tree companies and didn’t get anywhere with them. One company (that is in the next town from me) took several days to have the Estimator even contact me by e-mail and then he never showed-up during the appointment time. It was funny to see him come to my house yesterday (in an unscheduled visit) and see the other tree company doing the work.

I also had to deal with a Drinking Water Emergency:

Last Thursday my water filtration system stopped working. While I still had water pressure the water coming out was blackish-grey and not drinkable for me and my dog. I had some emergency water supplies I used and got some bottled water.

I called every water well company in the state (and neighboring state) and the vast majority of them never answered their phone or e-mail and never replied back to me. The company I have used several times in the past were pretty rude and wouldn’t set an appointment for me. One company gave me an appointment to come out on June 9th (their earliest appointment) and I took it since that was the only offer I had been given.

Another company called me back and said they didn’t do that kind of work, but gave me the name and number of another company that did (one I hadn’t heard of.) I called them and they said they would come Friday (yesterday.)

So I had the tree removal company here yesterday and then the water well company.

The water well company made it so I had drinkable water and I scheduled an appointment for next Friday to have a new water filtration system installed. Hopefully, after next Friday I can start to relax a little and not have to deal with a constant flow of major problems.  Fingers crossed.
