75: US Doesn't Remember

This is the 75th Anniversary of the End of World War 2 (V-E Day in May and V-J Day in August.) Sadly most Americans (Politicians and Regular People) have done little to nothing to remember the American Men, Women and Children who died during the War. The US is the ONLY country to fight in every single Theater of Battle (the Atlantic, North America, Central America, South America, the Caribbean, Asia, the Pacific, Oceania, Australia, Africa, the Middle East, Eastern Europe and Western Europe.)

The US was bombed during the War (Territories: Hawaii, Puerto Rico and Midway Island; States of: Oregon, Washington and California. The US was also invaded and occupied (Territories:  Alaska, the Philippine Islands, Guam and Wake Island.) American Men, Women and Children (Soldiers and Civilians) were interned in North America, Europe and in Asia.

405,399 American Soldiers were killed during the War, 670,846 American Soldiers were wounded, 30,314 American Soldiers are still missing and 130,000 American Soldiers became POWs (103,000 by the Germans and 27,000 by the Japanese.)

19,000 American Civilians were interned by the Germans and the Japanese during the War. 5,000 by the Germans and 14,000 by the Japanese. Thousands died of starvation, torture or beheading (by the Japanese.)
