Hiroshi Abe:  Born: 1922. Japanese. Soldier, convicted war criminal (supervised construction of the Burma Railway where over 12,000 Allied Prisoners of War died.)  (Served in the Imperial Japanese Army.)

Reuel Abraham (ne Karl Heinz Schneider) Born: 1924   German-born Israeli. Reported to be the first former Nazi to convert to Judaism and move to Israel. (Served in the German Luftwaffe.)

Wolfgang Altenburg: Born: June 24, 1928 (age 91)   German. Chief of Staff of the German Armed Forces, the Bundeswehr, from 1983 to 1986, and as Chairman of the NATO Military Committee from 1986 to 1989.  (Served in the German Kriegsmarine.)

Hugo Broch: Born: January 6, 1922 (age 97) German. World War II flying ace (Served in the German Luftwaffe.)

Oskar Fischer: Born: March 19, 1923 (age 96) Czechoslovak-born, East German, German. Minister of Foreign Affairs of the German Democratic Republic (1975-1990.)  (Served in the German Wehrmacht.)

Tuomas Gerdt: Born: May 28, 1922 (age 97) Finnish. Last living recipient of the Mannerheim Cross. (Served in the Finnish Army.)

Gustav Gerneth: Born: October 15, 1905 (age 113) German. Oldest known living veteran of World War 2. (Served in the German Luftwaffe.)

Werner Grossmann: Born: March 6, 1929 (age 90) East German, German. Former East German Deputy Leader of the Ministry of State Security (Stasi) 1986-1990. (Served in the German Volkssturm.)

Karl-Günther von Hase: Born: December 15, 1917 (age 101) German. Ambassador to the UK (1970–1977.) (Served in the German Heer.)

Hyun Soong-jong: Born: January 26, 1919 (age 100) Korean. Prime Minister of South Korea (1992–1993) (Served in the Imperial Japanese Army.)

Reimar Lüst: Born: March 25, 1923 (age 96)  German. Astrophysicist, director of ESA 1984-1990. (Served in the German Kriegsmarine.)

Hans Modrow: Born: January 27, 1928 (age 91) East German, German. Prime Minister of East Germany (1989-1990) (Served in the German Heer.)

Tomiichi Murayama: Born: March 3, 1924 (age 95) Japanese. Prime Minister (1994-1996.) (Served in the Imperial Japanese Army.)

Yasuhiro Nakasone: Born: May 27, 1918 (age 101) Japanese. Prime Minister of Japan (1982–1987) (Served in the Imperial Japanese Navy.)

Margarete Rabe: Born: October 2, 1923 (age 96) German. Guard at the Ravensbrück Concentration Camp. (Served in the German Schutzstaffel.)

Joseph Aloisius Ratzinger: Born: April 16, 1927 (age 92) German. Pope Benedict XVI, the 265th Pope (2005-2013) (Served in the German Luftwaffenhelfer.)

Helmut Schlesinger: Born: September 4, 1924 (age 95) German. President of the Deutsche Bundesbank (1991-1993.) (Served in the German Military.)

Richard Schröder: Born: April 14, 1921 (age 98) German. Member of staff at Auschwitz Concentration Camp. (Served in the German Schutzstaffel.)

Günther Schwägermann: Born: July 24, 1915 (age 104)  German. Adjutant for Joseph Goebbels. (Served in the German Waffen-SS.)

Endel Taniloo: Born: January 5, 1923 (age 96) Estonian. After the war survived a Soviet POW camp. Well-known sculptor. (Served in the German Waffen SS’s Estonian Legion.)

Fritz Tornow: Born: July 27, 1924 (age 95) German. Führerbunker occupant and Hitler´s personal dog handler. (Served in the German Wehrmacht.)
