As the 75th
Anniversary of V-E Day comes at the beginning of next month I’ve heard people
say that their country could have won the war all by themselves. The only
country that can actually say that they could have won World War 2 by
themselves is the only country (Axis or Allied) that fought in every single
Theater of the war: the United States.
Germany: Fought in Europe, Africa,
the Middle East, North America, Central America, South America and the
Caribbean.
Japan: Fought in Asia, Australia,
Oceania and North America.
The Soviet Union: Fought in
Eastern Europe and Asia (they declared war on Japan on August 8, 1945 in-between
when the US dropped the 1st atomic bomb on Japan on August 6th
and the 2nd atomic bomb on August 9th – technically they
are still at war since a Peace Treaty was never signed.)
The United Kingdom: Fought in
Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Asia, Australia, the Caribbean and South America.
Canada: Fought in: North America,
Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Australia, Asia and Oceania.
The United States: Fought in:
North America, Central America, South America, the Caribbean, Europe, the
Middle East, Africa, Asia, Oceania and Australia.
