Pet Peeve
My Pet Peeve: People who constantly go online for every Holiday and ask if the Transfer Station, Dump, Schools, Government Offices are open and if there will be mail delivery.
There
are 11 Federal Holidays (New Year's, Martin Luther King Jr.'s Birthday,
President's Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day,
Columbus Day, Veterans' Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas) where all Federal,
State, Territorial and Local Governments are closed - including Public Schools,
the USPS, etc.
Stop
asking every Holiday.

1st is Canada Day (French: Fête du Canada), in Canada. The National Day of
Canada.
A
Federal Statutory Holiday it celebrates the Anniversary of Canadian
Confederation which occurred on July 1, 1867 with the passing of the 1867
British North America Act, when three separate British Colonies of the United
Canadas (Ontario and Quebec), Nova Scotia and New Brunswick were united into a
single Dominion within the British Empire.
From
1867 until 1982 Canada Day was called Dominion Day.
In
1982 the Holiday was renamed Canada Day the same year the Canadian Constitution
was Patriated by the 1982 Canada Act marking Canada’s official independence
from the United Kingdom.
Before
Patriation in 1982 every Canadian Law had to be approved by the Canadian
Parliament in Ottawa, Canada and then be approved by the British Parliament in
London, England. It was then given Royal Ascent by the British King or Queen
before going back to Canada and getting Royal Ascent from the Canadian King or
Queen (after 1952.)

locations around the world attended by Canadians living abroad.
