Not only does this map show the current Fall Foliage, but it also shows the different Regions of New York. New York is not just New York City (see the small dot for NYC at the bottom of the map)

The vast majority of New York is not New York City.

The vast majority of New York has: Mountain, Farms, Lakes, Rivers, Water Falls, Skiing, Small Towns, Small Cities, Medium Cities and other Larger Non-New York City Cities.

There are State Parks, National Parks, Forts, Historical Sites, Canals,  Colleges, Universities, Hospitals, Private Schools  - all outside of New York City.

New York City is in New York State, but not all New York State is New York City.
