Being an American I firmly believe in using the USCU (United States Customary Units: Fahrenheit, Inches, Feet, etc.)
Note: USCU are not the same as
Canadian and British Imperial Units: Fahrenheit, Inches, Feet, etc.) and
haven’t been equal in value since 1826. So 1 Canadian/British Inch doesn’t
equal 1 American Inch (but they are very close.)
Being an American that lived in
Germany and Russia and a Canadian I have learned the Metric System (Celsius,
Meters, Kilometers, etc.)
When I post about the Weather I
will often include both the USCU and the Metric.
I am not trying to make the
United States a Metric Country (the US Federal Government tried that from
1975-1982 and failed as did the Canadian Federal Government in 1985 since
Canadians use Metric 50% of the time and Imperial Units the other 50% of the
time.)
I only include both Units of
Measurement so that my Friends and Family (Metric for the: Canadians, Brits,
Latvians, Kazakhs, Russians, Germans, Catalans, Spanish, Ukrainians, etc..
Imperial for Canadians and the Brits and USCU for Americans) can understand.
