Some people don’t believe me when I say “I can smell the snow coming” – even before the first snowflake falls or any snow being forecasted.
It is very easy to smell the snow
living on a mountain in northern New England, but I was able to smell the snow
when I lived in Massachusetts and New York.
I couldn’t smell the snow when I
lived in Germany or Virginia – they got so little of it – or when I lived in
Russia (because of the other smells of the city.)
In 13 years (and my 14th
Winter) here in northern New England I have never been wrong when I said I
could smell the snow and then some time later it snowed. That includes the
regular forecasted snow as well as the un-forecasted mountain snow.
I don’t smell any snow right now,
but am getting ready to soon.
