247 years ago today (June 14, 1775) the United States Army was founded.
There are 2,016,225 Soldiers
currently serving (485,000 Regular Army;
336,000 Army National Guard; 189,500 Army Reserve) and 252,747 Civilians
that work for the US Army.
Since the US has not had the
Military Draft for 49 years (since 1973) every Man and Woman who serves in the
Army (and the other Branches) are Volunteers.
