From News Nation:
“Joe Biden
wins Pennsylvania, secures electoral votes to clinch the presidency”
Democrat Joe
Biden has defeated President Donald Trump to become the 46th president of the
United States, according to the Associated Press. Biden wins Pennsylvania,
securing the necessary Electoral College votes to clinch the presidency,
according to the Associated Press who called the Keystone State for Biden on
Saturday. With Pennsylvania, Biden has 284 electoral votes to President Donald
Trump’s 214 electoral votes as of AP’s latest race call. The battleground
state’s decision to greatly expand mail-in voting caused the delay in
ballot-counting. Trump, who held a 675,000-vote lead in the Keystone State
early Wednesday, prematurely declared victory. “We’re winning Pennsylvania by a
tremendous amount. We’re up 690,000 votes in Pennsylvania. These aren’t even
close. It’s not like, ‘Oh, it’s close,’” Trump said during an appearance at the
White House. By Wednesday afternoon, Trump’s lead had slipped down to 326,000.
And by Thursday morning, his lead was down to 136,000. By 10:45 p.m. Thursday,
the lead shrunk to 26,132 as mail in ballots from across the state continued to
be counted. The late counted ballots were overwhelmingly in Biden’s favor,
allowing the former vice president to take the lead Friday morning well before
the AP called the state for Biden. One reason: Under state law, elections
officials are not allowed to process mail-in ballots until Election Day. It’s a
form of voting that has skewed heavily in Biden’s favor after Trump spent
months claiming — without proof — that voting by mail would lead to widespread
voter fraud. Trump’s campaign and Republicans are already mounting legal
challenges in several states, although most are small-scale lawsuits that do
not appear to affect many votes. Judges in Georgia and Michigan quickly
dismissed Trump campaign lawsuits there on Thursday. President Donald Trump’s
campaign has already called for a recount in Wisconsin, but several closely
contested states in the presidential election may re-tally their votes if
totals fall within a certain margin.
^ Sadly, this
Election was not about “good against evil” but was about “the lesser of two
evils.” That is why there was no “blue wave” and no “red wave.” In this case
Biden was the “lesser of two evils.” I cannot forgive Trump for what he has
(and has not) done about Covid-19. His actions and inactions have directly led
to thousands upon thousands of Americans getting sick and dying. While the
First Lady seems to have taken Covid-19 seriously – before and after she got
infected herself as did her son - the same is not true with Trump. He has
shrugged it off and even tried to act God-like about it. The Democrats
(especially Schumer and Pelosi) did not do a good job when going against Trump
– especially during his Impeachment – and the main reason the Democrats didn’t
get a landslide as they believed they would was because of how they supported
the violence, destruction, chaos and death that has plagued many parts of the
country since last May. Americans do not feel safe and do not believe Biden or
the Democrats will bring that security and law-and-order now that they are in
office. One thing that is clear is that Trump will not leave the White House
without causing a fuss every minute of every day until January 2021. I believe
that he may try to “pull a Nixon” and resign right before January 20, 2021
which would make Mike Pence President and Pence can then pardon Trump, his
family and his associates the same way that Gerald Ford did with Richard Nixon
in 1974. It is really the only way for Trump and everyone associated with his
time in office can avoid Local, State and Federal charges and possibly fines,
penalties and maybe even jail for what he has done and not done while
President. Right now I personally do not care what happens to Trump after he
leaves the White House. I’m just relieved that he is leaving. It’s sad that
Biden is taking his place and I’m sure that will lead to many other issues for
our country and the rest of the world. I just hope he doesn’t ruin it as much
as Trump has. I also hope that in the next Presidential Election in 2024 that
the Democrats and the Republicans (or at least one of them) can have a good
candidate that Americans can easily vote for since we didn’t have that in 2016
or in 2020. ^
