250 years ago today (April 18, 1775) Paul Revere made his famous ride to warn the American Colonists that the British Military were coming prior to the Battles of Lexington and Concord, in Massachusetts.
He did not shout “The British are
Coming!” as most People believe since the American Colonists mostly considered
themselves British at the time.
Instead he shouted “The Regulars are
Coming!” meaning the British Military.
Revere was 1 of 40 Riders warning
the Colony that night.
Paul Revere and the Other Riders gave
the American Colonists enough warning to prepare for the British Military’s
arrival in their Towns.
On April 19, 1775 the Battles of
Lexington and Concord occurred with the “Shot Heard Around The World” and the
beginning of the American Revolution.
The Americans won the Battles of
Lexington and Concord and pushed the British back to Boston.
