How to celebrate Halloween if your area is in the Green Coded Area:

Trick or Treat  It’s on like Donkey Kong! Study up on the official trick or treat guidelines and make sure to stay safe while trick or treating!

Visit official Trick or Treat Safehouses Be on the lookout for the official Safehouse certificate while trick or treating! These are the folks that will have a table or sanitized barrier to help you maintain a safe distance as you grab your goodies! Watch for 6-foot markers in front of homes and in driveways, that’s a great sign that those folks are going the extra mile to help keep you healthy!

Garage Trick or Treat Check out the neighbors that are going all out and paving the way for garage give-outs! Driveways offer up more room to roam than a traditional walkway and can even sport more fun and frightful décor!

Trunk-R-Treat It’s not just for parking lots anymore! Neighborhood Trunk-R-Treats will be popping up everywhere this Halloween to help minimize the close quarters of pathways and porches. Check out the peeps that park their rides at the end of a driveway to dole out the goods. Chances are you’re going to see some pretty fun trunk themes!

Neighborhood Costume Party Keeping in mind large gathering guidelines for your area, this is the perfect time to get together with a few neighbors, show off your costumes and throw one wicked party! A cul-de-sac or front yard is the perfect backdrop for a social distancing soirée, just don’t forget the strategically spaced seating, full moon music and bucketloads of candy!

Grown Folk Fun  Fright Feast: Invite a limited number of guests over for a themed costume dinner party complete with devilish drinks, scary sides and monstrous main dishes! Perfect wine pairings and severed finger foods are only limited by your wild imagination!

How to celebrate Halloween if your area is in the Yellow Coded Area:

Trick or Treat! Time to get the treats, but before you do... it's super important to strictly adhere to the official trick or treat guidelines! Focus on safety first and make sure you're only visiting the neighbors that have safety measures in place!

Yeet the Treats Embrace the Millennial dictionary this Halloween and learn a new word that all the cool kids know… YEET! This trendy new lingo means to throw (something) forcefully in a specified direction. So, huddle with the neighborhood beforehand and get everyone on board to Yeet the Treats! Reminiscent of those nostalgic days gone by where parade floats threw out candy to kids who patiently stood by. This time, homeowners will yeet candy from 6 feet away as costumed kids travel safely up and down sidewalks.

Drive Up Trick or Treat  Neighbors set up curbside shop as parents drive on up with their favorite costumed characters to scoop up the sweets and treats! Keep the hand sanitizer handy and keep on the look out for official trick or treat safehouses!

Neighborhood Parade Organize a neighborhood costume parade where the route is predetermined and marked to maintain safe distances between participants. Stay safe by incorporating sanitize stations, yellow caution tape, 6ft sidewalk stickers/tape, age group signs and more!

Family pet parade Talk about a new tradition! Take to the streets with your furry friends and take part in a social distancing pet parade! Dog treats go to the best costume!

Fairytale Forest  Plan a path through neighboring woods or a park and light it up with glow sticks, flashlights and more! Line the trail with Halloween décor, props, candy and surprises. Trees can be tied with ribbons to help follow social distance guidelines!

Face Mask Party Order up a bunch of plain face masks and have yourself a paint party! Decorate, doodle and bedazzle your way to some snazzy new face masks to wear this fall.

Zoom Parties Hop on your Nextdoor App and help coordinate a neighborhood Zoom party complete with games, scary stories and a costume contest. Goodie bags and candy buckets can be dropped off on doorsteps in advance or porch pickups can be arranged from one location!

Netflix Party  Netflix should be offering up some Halloween classics and fear filled favorites to choose from this Halloween. It’s the perfect time to check out their new free extension that lets you start, stop and pause a movie so you can watch it at the same time as a group of friends or fam -- remotely.

Candy Stations Unleash your imagination and let the kids run amok all through the house, both inside and out! Pull out all the stops with a variety of different candy stations, custom made with your little crew in mind!

Dress for Dinner Don’t just wear the costume… become the costume! Plan a Halloween feast for your fam with one simple rule… everyone must stay in costume AND in character for the entire meal! Give each participant some time to come up with an accent and a backstory before the night begins then the laughter and the memories will be endless!

Costume Tik Toks Inspiration abounds when it comes to making a like-worthy Tik Tok. Try the family costume challenge and flash from smallest to largest family member wearing the same costume! Don’t forget fido!

Scavenger Hunt House Find inspiration in Halloween movies, music and more! Create different theme rooms throughout the house and send the kids on a scavenger hunt for fun swag. Hide candy, toys and prizes or even make some gift certificates to stay up late, choose the movie or eat an extra piece of candy. Keep the big kids engaged by including QR codes and pic challenges!
