I'm watching a dessert
competition show (while I work) and there's one woman who claims the title of
"Eternal Optimist" in the spot under her name where her job title
should be. She is that fake bubbly, constantly throw-it-in-your-face kind of optimist.
So far she has been in every final challenge fighting to stay in the
competition because her desserts aren't good looking or tasting. The judges
even said they are only keeping her in the competition to see if she can ever
"optimistically create anything edible." I have to admit I enjoy
seeing her melt-down during and after every challenge and lose her fakeness.
It's not that I'm a Scrooge. I just don't think people can be too much of one
thing all the time (too optimistic, too pessimistic, too liberal, too
conservative, etc.) Too much of one thing is never good. There has to be a
balance. I also don't like fake people - especially fake people who throw it
into everyone's face. Back to my show and watching her lose her fakeness with
every meltdown she has.
