Canadian Prime Minister Mark
Carney has arrived in Kyiv for an official visit today (August 24, 2025.)
This is his first trip to Ukraine
as Prime Minister.
In his Independence Day greeting,
Carney recalled that Canada was among the first countries to recognize
Ukraine’s independence, and that more than one million Ukrainians now live in
Canada.
