TAR

Spoiler Alert!

I just got done watching the new season of TAR. This season the teams are all contestants from former reality shows (“The Amazing Race”, “Survivor” and “Big Brother.” I have seen all three shows many times although I stopped watching “Survivor” last year because it is the same old challenges, locations and problems and just got boring after so many years. “Big Brother” can get like that too and if my favorite houseguests are voted off then I tend to stop watching the rest of the season. I haven’t had that happen with “The Amazing Race” though since they are constantly moving to a new location, with new challenges and new problems.

Back to this season. I would have thought that those who had been on “Big Brother” would have been at the bottom in this race around the world because they just stayed in their house all season-long. Then above them would be those who had been on “Survivor” because they don’t really have to figure new places out all the time – after the reach their camp in the first episode. Those that had been on “The Amazing Race” before should have been on the top since they know what to expect. This new season changed that thought to some extent.

As of right now my favorite teams are: Leo and Jamal (from “TAR”), Tyler and Korey (from “TAR”) and Corinne and Eliza (from “Survivor.” They all seem to be good at the challenges or at least verbal about them  - which makes for a fun watching experience.

The teams that I don’t really care for are: Rachael and Elissa (from “TAR” and “Big Brother”), Nicole and Victor (from “Big Brother”) and Rupert and Laura (from “Survivor.”) I didn’t care for them on their previous shows or seasons and the feeling has just stuck.

If I had to call it from the beginning of the episode I would have thought Rupert and Laura would have been the first eliminated in Tokyo, but it doesn’t surprise me that it was Art and JJ (from “TAR.”) They weren’t that great in their past season and just gave up in this one – probably because they are too old and out-of-shape.

I can’t wait to see next week’s episode and see if any of the teams start to fight amongst themselves as well as against other teams – that is really fun to watch.
