"Half of Russians Say They’ll Never Live to See a Decent Salary – Survey"

Almost half of Russians say a decent salary is out of their reach no matter how long they live to earn it, the government daily Rossiiskaya Gazeta cited research as saying Wednesday. On average, Russians named 66,000 rubles ($1,000) as a decent monthly salary, according to the government’s Financial University survey cited by the outlet. The figures ranged from 50,000 rubles in Siberia to 100,000 rubles in Moscow. A total of 48 percent of urban Russians said they will never live to see a decent salary, the survey said. Nearly a quarter said they had already attained a decent income, while almost one-fifth said they plan to reach that goal in five years. The average Russian family needs a minimum of 58,450 rubles ($900) to afford basic necessities, an extensive survey by the State Statistics Service said last week. The average monthly salary in Russia stood at 43,030 rubles as of February this year, while real disposable income fell by 1.3 percent in January.

^ A sad reality for ordinary Russians. Maybe if the Russian Government focused on it's own people rather than the rest of the world things would improve. ^
