Today we remember the 1.5 million Armenian men, women and
children who were murdered by the Turks from 1914-1923 (including members of
my Great-Uncle’s family.) Turkey says the murders “just happened.” The following
countries consider this murder to be genocide: Argentina, Armenia, Austria,
Belgium, Bolivia, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, Cyprus, the Czech Republic,
France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Lithuania, Lebanon, Luxembourg, the
Netherlands, Paraguay, Poland, Russia, Slovakia, Sweden, Switzerland, Syria,
Uruguay, the Vatican and Venezuela. Partial Genocide Recognition by: Australia
(New South Wales and South Australia), Iran (Tehran), Spain (Aragon, the
Balearic Islands, Basque Country, Catalonia, Navarre), the United Kingdom
(Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales), the United States (48 states – except
for Alabama, Mississippi and the Federal Government.)
