Shutdown Slant

I have been asked if I am anti-Democrat and if that has slanted my views on the Government Shutdown.  I have gone after Democrats, Republicans and Independents alike. I do not pick a side merely because of the political party, but pick a side between what I believe is right and what I believe is wrong.

I believe it is wrong for the Democrats to shutdown the Federal Government and to not pay US soldiers and their families. There are 1,281,900 men and women in the US Military right now with an additional 801,200 men and women serving in the Reserves. Out of that total there are around 300,000 men and women in 150 countries risking their lives to protect all of us (Democrat, Republican and Independent) with many in dangerous warzones.

I can not understand how the Senate Democrats can expect the men and women of the US Military to risk their lives while they (the Senate Democrats) hold the money that the soldiers and their families use to pay their bills and for food - hostage.

This isn't a question about liking Trump or not. This is a question of human decency. If someone is willing to risk their life so that I can be free then the least we can do is to give them the pay they have earned and that they deserve. They are not pawns to be played around on a board. Military men and women can not tell their creditors that they will pay them once the Democrats allow them to be paid. Military mothers and fathers can not tell their children that they will feed them as soon as the Democrats allow them to be paid.

This is a Schumer's Shutdown and until the Democrats end it the men and women in the US Military that defend us without question will continue to be the true victims in all of this.

That is the message I have made  and one that I will continue to make until the Shutdown ends.
