90 years ago today (November 19, 1933) 6 Million Women in
Spain voted for the first time in the General Election of the Second Spanish
Republic.
There was only one more General Election in the Second
Spanish Republic in 1936.
There were no Elections during the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939.)
There were no General Elections during Franco’s Dictatorship
(1936-1975.)
The next General Election (since 1936) was in 1977 – 2 years
into Spain becoming a Democracy.
