No Defender's

Today (February 23rd) is Defender of The Fatherland Day in Russia.

It remembers all the People who defended and currently defend Russia.

I was in Russia for one Defender’s of the Fatherland Day and it was nothing special (still not sure why “Mother Russia” has a Fatherland Day.)

It is also Men’s Day (Women’s Day is March 8th.)

For the past 11 years (since 2014) Russia has been fighting a War in parts of Ukraine.

For the past 3 years (since 2022) Russia has been fighting a War in every part of Ukraine.

867,180 Russian Soldiers have been wounded or killed in Ukraine since 2022.

They have died as Putin’s Cannon Fodder.

Maybe Russia shouldn’t celebrate their Defender’s today since they haven’t been able to defend their own Country (Kursk, Russia) which has been occupied by Ukraine since August 2024.
