Russia currently has over 100,000
troops surrounding Ukraine on 3 out of 4 sides (Russian-occupied Crimea,
Ukraine in the south, Russian-Occupied Donbas, Ukraine in the east, along the 282
mile long part of Russian-occupied Transnistria, Moldova in the south-west, along
the 606 miles of the Ukrainian-Belarussian Border in the north and along the
1,282 mile Russian-Ukrainian Border to the east.
Only the borders with the EU
(Poland’s 337 mile border, Slovakia’s 60 mile border, Hungary’s 85 mile border
and Romania’s 381 mile border) and the 477 mile long Ukrainian-Moldovan Border are
free from Russian Troops and the ever-constant threat of war and death, but
most Ukrainians don’t have the means to flee to the EU.
Since the Russian Invasion and
Occupation of Crimea and the War in Donbas eastern Ukraine in 2014: 4,619 Ukrainian Soldiers have been
killed with 10,700 Ukrainian Soldiers wounded; 5,768 Russian Soldiers have been
killed with 13,700 Russian Soldiers Wounded;
3,393 Ukrainian Civilians have been Killed, unknown wounded and
1,414,798 Ukrainian Civilians fled to other parts of Ukraine and 925,500
Ukrainian Civilians fled to other countries.
Here’s hoping Putin stops his
madness and doesn’t attack Ukraine anymore than he already has.
