25 years ago today (April 1, 1999) Nunavut joined the Canadian Confederation as its 3rd Territory.
It had previously been part of
the Northwest Territories.

Canadian Province) Nunavut is a Federal Territory with Statutes delegated to
them by the Canadian Parliament in Ottawa (as opposed to a Province which
receive their power and authority from the 1867 Constitution Act.)
The Official Languages of Nunavut
are: Inuinnaqtun, Inuktitut, English, French (English and French being mandated
by the Federal Canadian Government for all 3 Territories.)
The Capital and Largest City of Nunavut
is: Iqaluit (with a Population of 7,429.)
The Total Population of Nunavut
is: 36,858 People.
Nunavut is also home to the
