It is about Nicholas Winton, a 29
year old Brit, who went to Czechoslovakia in 1938 (right when Nazi Germany took
the Sudetenland of Czechoslovakia) until 1939 (when Nazi Germany took all of Czechoslovakia
and then invaded Poland - starting World
War 2.)
He rescued 669 Jewish Children by
bringing them to the United Kingdom through the Kindertransport Program.
Anthony Hopkins plays the older Nicky
Winton and Johnny Flynn plays the
younger Nicky Winton.
Helena Bonham Carter plays Nicky’s
Mother, Babi Winton.
It is very good movie and tells
the story of a group of almost unknown people of the British Committee for
Refugees from Czechoslovakia (BCRC) – like Nicky Winton – as well as what happened
decades after the War.
