248 years ago today (May 10, 1775) The Green Mountain Boys,
under the Command of Ethan Allen and accompanied by Connecticut Soldier
Benedict Arnold, crossed Lake Champlain and capture Fort Ticonderoga in New
York from the British.
The cannons and other armaments at Fort Ticonderoga were
later transported to Boston by Colonel Henry Knox in the noble train of
artillery and used to fortify Dorchester Heights and break the standoff at the
siege of Boston from the British.
I have loved going to Fort Ticonderoga since I was a little
kid.
