I have stayed at the Red Roof Inn in New York many times since I started visiting my Grandmother and Great-Aunt - at least 8 times.
I stayed there again last night it was awful.
I have a problem when the Hotel Employee looks and acts
sketchy (smells, doesn't know the reservation system, doesn't wear a name tag,
tries to give me someone else's reservation, etc.)
I also have a problem when I walk upstairs (since there is no
elevator) and find our room smells like weed, the refrigerator has mold and
smells and things like the sink are broken.
I also have a problem when we complained to the same Employee and she asks us 5 times which
room she had given us 8 minutes earlier (and which was written on the envelope
key we gave her when we asked for a new room.)
I also have a problem when we go to the new room, on the
ground floor this time, and both of the room keys don't work and we have to go
back to the same Employee a minute later and she has no idea which room she had
just given us.
Then when she gives us new keys and offers to walk us the few
steps to make sure the new keys work she has no idea where the rooms are and we
have to show her.
I also have a problem when 1 of the 2 new room keys also doesn't
work and the same Employee says she will bring us another one and does and that
key doesn't work so we can only use 1 key between the two of us.
I also have a problem when there's a weird white substance on
the carpet and it smells.
I also have a problem when the police bang on the room 2
doors from us at 4 am.
We were so glad to leave the Red Roof Inn as early as we
could the next morning (the Employee wasn't there, but
another sketchy Employee, who refused to stand when we checked-out was.
Needless to say I won't be staying at that Red Roof Inn ever again.
Luckily, unlike when I first moved to New York from
Germany - and there was only 1
hotel - there are now at least 6. So I have 5 others to choose from the next
time.
