United Food

From Yahoo:
"United bringing back free snacks in coach on US flights"

United Airlines is bringing back free snacks for economy-class passengers in February. Those snacks were cut off in 2008 by United and Continental followed suit in 2011 after the airlines merged. Jimmy Samartzis, United's vice president of food services, said the airline is "refocusing on the big and little things that we know matter to our customers." Economy flyers can now look forward to treats ranging from stroopwafels, a Dutch treat of two thin waffles stuck together with caramel, to an Asian-inspired mix of rice crackers, sesame sticks and wasabi peas. The airline said Wednesday that the snacks would return on all United and United Express flights within the U.S. and those in Latin America that don't already have them.

^ This is a step in the right direction. Flying was always stressful (with delays, lost luggage, terrorism, crowds, security, etc) but at least you used to get free checked luggage, food and entertainment. Then the airlines took those away for domestic flights and so you had all the same old headaches being added with these new ones. I don't see the airlines ever bringing back free checked baggage (although they should when they loose your bag) but at least free food is a good start. I hope other airlines follow United's lead.  It's time that passengers were treated as human beings and not cattle. ^
