After waiting 5 business days to make an appointment with my PCP and having his office not even answer my calls and lying to the Patient Relations Woman I asked to help me yesterday I changed tactics today.
Instead of calling using my Home
Phone I tried calling with my Cell Phone (using my House's WiFi since there is
no Cell Phone Service in my town) and the Receptionist there immediately
picked-up - instead of the call ringing a while and then going to voice mail.
I guess they had been screening
their calls and making it a point not to answer mine, but they didn’t know my
Cell Phone Number. I was given some lame excuse that they had just received a
reply message back from my PCP that very day – convenient for them (I wonder if
it would still have arrived had I continued to use my Home Phone that they were
screening.)
I just want an appointment and so
didn’t mention a thing – even leaving out my name until she was already ready
to schedule my appointment with my PCP. The earliest I was able to get was July
25th at 4:30 pm (there were earlier appointments with different Providers
and I was given that option, but turned it down.)
After my appointment and having
my files switched to a new PCP since my old one is retiring in September and I
want to make sure this is done correctly in person I will then continue with my
official complaint on the Staff for making me wait 5 business days and having
to involve other Departments just to schedule an appointment.
