Today (August 24, 1991) is the 30th Anniversary of Ukraine’s Independence. The country has come a long way in those 30 years.
They left the Soviet Communist
Dictatorship in 1991 and created a new country from scratch.
They overthrew Viktor
Yanukovych’s deadly Dictatorship in 2014.
They have become a Democratic,
Modern, Western Country while fighting with Russia in Donbas (4,565 Ukrainian
Soldiers have been killed; 10,500 Ukrainian Soldiers have been wounded; 3,387
Ukrainian Civilians have been killed; 1,414,798 Ukrainian Civilians have been
internally displaced and 925,500 Ukrainian Civilians have fled abroad since the
Russians started the war in 2014) as well as continue to work to free Crimea
from the illegal invasion, occupation and annexation by Russia and the
anti-Ukrainian and anti-Crimean laws and policies by the Russian Occupation
Authorities there.
Ukraine continues to keep Russia
at bay while becoming a true Democracy.
