3 Days To Shutdown

The US Federal Government is set to Shutdown in 3 days - this Friday (November 17th) unless the Republicans and Democrats can get their acts together and pass a Spending Bill before then.

With all the fighting between the Republicans and the Republicans, the fighting between the Democrats and the Democrats and the fighting between the Republicans and the Democrats a Government Shutdown this Friday is almost certainly going to happen.

That means that the 2 Million American Soldiers fighting to protect all of us (including those Politicians in DC) won’t be paid, but will continue to risk their lives for us.

Don’t think a Government Shutdown will affect you?

If you are one of the 6 Million Americans flying home for Thanksgiving next week you can expect major delays (non-Weather Related) because even though the 54,200 TSA Officers still have to work during a Shutdown they aren’t being paid for their work.

The same thing with the 14,000 Air Traffic Controllers at the 19,633 Airports across the US. They will be forced to work, but without being paid.

Think of it this way: Remember how slow the TSA worked to get you through Security and on to your flight before a Government Shutdown? Add a Government Shutdown and not being paid to that already slow Security Times with higher-than normal amounts of passengers.

If you aren’t flying then think of it this way:

If you get Social Security Benefits of any kind (Medicare, Medicaid, etc.) the 60,000 Employees of the SSA will continue to work during a Government Shutdown, but will not be paid for their work – so your Benefits will be slow in coming.

If you receive Healthcare and/or Benefits from the VA the 412,892 Employees of the VA will continue to work during a Government Shutdown, but will not be paid for their work – so your Benefits and Health Appointments will be slow to get.

The List goes on and on.

If you aren’t flying and don’t get Federal Government Benefits then think of it this way:

All 50 US States, DC and 5 US Territories would not receive any new Federal Money – which would affect Millions of State and Territory Employees as well as Million of Residents receiving certain Benefits funded by both the State/Territory and the Federal Government.

It is estimated that the United States would lose $1 Billion US Dollars every day of a Government Shutdown.

Bottom-Line: If the Federal Government Shutdowns this Friday every single American Citizen or National – all 333,287,557 of us – will be directly affected in some way.

The only ones who wouldn’t be affected are President Biden and all 535 Members of Congress – since they will continue to get paid even when they aren’t working.
