Purim 2023 (Ukrainian: Пурим) 2023 - Hebrew
Calendar: 5783.
This is the Kharkiv Synagogue, the largest in Ukraine, celebrating
Purim as they have openly for over 30 years – since the Soviet Union collapsed
in 1991 – despite the constant bombs and bullets of the Russians who are only
18 miles away.
A Circus entertained the crowd of hundreds.
Rabbi Moshe Moskovitz, said that the “fact that so many Jews
came today to celebrate Purim in Kharkiv openly- is the biggest victory of good
against evil. When each of us adds in goodness and kindness we make our world a
better place.”
The Mayor of Kharkiv, Igor Terechov, spoke about the
tremendous contribution of the Jewish Community during war time and announced
that today, Purim, the Kharkiv Streets will finally have lights for the first
time since the war began.
The Ukrainians will never let the Russians win no matter if
they are 18 miles or 100 miles away. Good will eventually win over Evil and
Russia will be defeated.
The Russian War is bringing together Ukrainians (ethnically
Ukrainian, ethnically Russian, ethnically Tartar, Jewish, Orthodox Christian and
Catholic) against the common enemy: The Russian War Criminals.
