Past Advice

1. Friends, family and strangers (on my blog) that have lived through Shortage Economies due to war (rationing) have given advice on how to get things that are hard to find or use substitutes.

Note: There was actually more rationing in the UK after 1945 then there was during World War 2 and it lasted until July 4, 1954 even when rationing in the US ended in August 1945. People in British-occupied Germany and Austria had better rations than British citizens living in the UK.

2. Friends, family and strangers (on my blog) that have lived through Dictatorships (Nazi, Spanish, East German, Polish, Soviet, etc.) have given advice on how they survived: closed International borders, needing special passes to travel within your own country, standing in lines for hours for the chance of getting whatever was available by the time you got to the front, Government Censorship, etc.

Note: These people lived under a Shortage Economy for around 40-70 years.

Whether living during wartime rationing or a Dictatorship these people dealt with life with no Internet and no home delivery. You can too - especially for a few months.
