Snow Law

Drivers are responsible for clearing ALL snow off of their vehicles before driving. This is a law made after a young woman who was tragically killed in a motor vehicle accident caused by snow and ice falling off of another vehicle.

Drivers who violate this can be charged with Negligent Driving, which carries a minimum fine of $250, and up to $500 for a first offense, and a minimum of $500 and up to $1,000 for a subsequent offense.

Please drive safe this weekend, and ensure your vehicles are properly clear of snow and ice. Our officers will be out enforcing this throughout the weekend and following days.

^ FYI: Most states have such a law (even those that don't get much snow.) Although it should be common sense. It looks like my state will only accept a car right off the assembly line and registered with the European Union - notice the license plate. While the picture is a little off the message and the law are a good one. ^
