I just watched "Pilecki." It's a Polish movie about Witold Pilecki who was part of the Polish Underground during World War 2. He volunteered to be captured by the Germans during one of their regular round-ups (Łapanka) on September 19, 1940 and be sent to Auschwitz and report on what was going on there. He escaped from the German Death Camp on April 26, 1943 and wrote the first extensive report given to the Allies in London and DC from within the camp. He then fought in the Warsaw Uprising of 1944. He was arrested by the Polish and Soviet Communists after the war and executed on May 25, 1948. I would recommend people watch this film and learn about what this great man did to help Poland (which was occupied during the war) and the Allies.
