US Passports

500,000 US Passport Applications a week have been turned-in every week since March 2023.

According to the US State Department it currently takes 10 to 13 weeks to get your US Passport or US Passport Card (7 to 9 weeks for Expeditated Service.)

There are limited Appointments at US Passport Facilities for those that need a Passport in an Emergency (ie. the Death of a Loved One Overseas, etc.)

Adults receive a 10 year Passport.

There are a total of 151 Million US Passports in circulation (out of a Population of 336 Million People.)

Since 2009, Americans have been required to have a US Passport to travel by land or sea or a US Passport Card to travel by land, or sea to Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean (except the US Territories of Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands) and the rest of the World.

US Passport Cards cannot be used to travel outside the United States by air.

The US Passport was redesigned in 2021.
