I got a letter from Anthem last Friday, but of course their Customer Service was closed until today so I just called them - after leaving them 2 separate messages about 2 separate things: Setting-Up Automatic Payments and adding my PCP.
This is about my new Health Plan
that starts on January 1, 2023 (not my current one that I've had since 2009 and
that Anthem is ending on December 31, 2022 because it was so good.
Right before my call I got a
reply about both. The first one was about my PCP and said that they couldn't
find that name in their system and sent me a list of approved Providers.
Of course I found my Doctor on
their list (Page 14 of 37) and both their Website and their Cell Phone App won’t
let me add her to my account and told me to call them.
The second was about the
Automatic Payments Set-Up and was just a copy and paste on how to do it – even
though I had written them that it wouldn’t let me do it on their Website or
their Cell Phone App.
I called their Customer Service
right when they opened and explained that I wanted to check the Automatic
Payments on my new account starting on January 1, 2023. When I applied for this
new Plan on November 7, 2022 I added my Bank Info to the Application and Anthem
even took out the new Premium Amount from my Bank on November 10, 2022.
After a long wait the Woman came
back and said it was all set for my new account.
I then asked her about adding my
PCP and after a long wait while she checked she came on and said that Doctor
couldn’t be added. She wanted to add a PCP in my Town. I told her there were no
Doctors in my Town – not since 2009 when I moved here.
I then explained that I had received the List
of Providers from Anthem at 1:35 am this morning and my PCP’s name and
information was on page 14 of 37. She said she would call their office and
check and I was put on hold. When she came back on the phone she said my PCP
was added.
Before the call ended I made sure
that the PCP was added and that the Automatic Payments were added to my new
Health Plan starting on January 1, 2023 and they were.
While this Customer Service Woman
was good and professional Anthem has been one big mess from the moment they
told me they were ending my Current Health Care Plan after 13 years to me
trying to get help on Plans to me applying for the new Plan to now. That is all
in the past 2 months. I won’t really know everything is all set until I try and
use the new Plan in January.
