There are 1,347,106 Active-Duty US Military Soldiers, Sailors
and Airmen/women and an 807,562 Reserve US Military Soldiers, Sailors and
Airmen/women.
The US has not had the Military Draft since 1973 and so has
relied on an All-Volunteer Military for 50 years.
1,137,610 inside the United States (excluding Alaska, Hawaii
and Territories)
20,873 in Alaska (US State)
161 in Puerto Rico (US Territory)
42,508 in Hawaii (US State)
6,161 in Guam (US Territory)
You can see the number of American Military Bases and the number
of American Soldiers stationed in each Country on this Map (it doesn’t include
the number of Military Families or American Government Contractors also living
in those places.)
I never served in the US Military, but my Brother and Nephew
currently do and my Father, Grandfather, Grandmother, Great-Uncles and others
have throughout the history of the United States so I know it's important to
remember, honor and support every man and woman who served or are serving.
