Civil War @ 150

From The Civil War Trust:
"150th Anniversary"

^ This Thursday is the 150th anniversary of the end of the American Civil War. I found the website "The Civil War Trust" that has information on what is planned to commemorate the end of the war. It is important to remember the 150th anniversary because the 100th anniversary back in 1965 was full of desegregation and fighting for civil rights and the end of the Civil War was not given the honor it deserves. It was difficult to find a picture with the 150th anniversary on it that didn't include the Confederate flag. I refuse to honor that racist flag that is used by bigots and idiots. I lived in Virginia (when I worked in Washington DC) and they, like most of the South, honor their Confederate "heroes" by naming highways, towns, buildings, etc. I will never understand honoring people who advocated for the separation of the country and for racism. We would never allow the Germans to do the same with the Nazis and I see no difference here. ^
