Open-Minded?

The cool trend nowadays is for people to claim they are "open-minded" and that everyone has a right to their opinions/views, etc. What I have found with dealing with these self-proclaimed open-minded people is that they are all talk. They can claim they are tolerant and understanding until they are blue in the face, but when push comes to shove they are just as intolerant as everyone else. They only mean they will be "open-minded" with those that fully support their views and opinions. Anyone else infuriates them. They post and share their views on social media, on the news, in public yet when someone does the same with an opposing view they act "holier than thou." They aren't capable of holding a civil, respectful dialogue as they only focus on their point of view and stop anyone else before they can even start. In this case I don't claim to be open-minded. I have my views and opinions and sometimes they are very strong feelings. The difference between what I do and what a so-called open-minded person does is I will listen to your viewpoint (that doesn't mean I will agree with you and that I won't try to show examples, etc to disprove you) but I don't simply disregard your case before even hearing it. I am not closed-minded and claim to be open-minded. If people stopped trying to be cool, modern and be all the trendy phrases (like open-minded) and started being honest then we would get along much better since you would know exactly who you were dealing with instead of wondering if you were really dealing with a hypocrite.
