Putin has claimed that Russia is currently fighting in Ukraine because there are Nazis in Ukraine.
Putin has also called the collapse of the Soviet Union the
worst Geopolitical Event and has worked hard to bring it back (using the old
Soviet National Anthem again, invading and occupying parts of Georgia, invading
and occupying parts of Ukraine, praising Stalin and bringing Russia back to a
Dictatorship, etc.)
Putin seems to love both the Nazis and the Communists since
he has been using both of their playbooks in his 23 year Dictatorship both
inside Russia and around the World.
(This picture (from a Nazi German Newspaper) shows an ethnic Russian Group - the National Choir – giving a performance to the Nazis sometime between 1939 and 1941.)
Josef Stalin loved the Nazis too (he had a one-sided Bromance
with Adolf Hitler.)
Stalin worked hard to make the Molotov–Ribbentrop Pact in
August 1939 in which both Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union would be able to occupy
lands in Eastern Europe (as the Nazis did in western Poland in September 1939
and the Soviets did in eastern Poland in 1939 and in Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia
and Moldova in 1940.)
Another aspect of the Pact was that the USSR would give Nazi
Germany raw materials and Nazi Germany would give the Soviet Union money. The
Soviets sent their last shipment of raw materials to the Germans a few hours
before the Germans attacked the Soviets in June 1941.
The Nazis and the Soviets also exchanged Cultural Aspects with each other from September 1939 until June 1941.
People have said that Stalin was only using Hitler (as Hitler
clearly was using Stalin) but when the Germans invaded the Soviet Union on June
22, 1941 Stalin felt so personally betrayed by “his” Hitler” that he fled from
all public and private work.
It was the Soviet Foreign Minister, Vyacheslav Molotov (of
the infamous Molotov-Rippentrop Pact) who announced to the Soviet People via
radio that the Germans had invaded the USSR. It was also Molotov who ran the
War until July 3, 1941 when Stalin finally overcame his heart-break and got
over his Bromance with Hitler that he turned into a real Crazy Ex that had been
dumped.
Stalin issued Order No. 270 in 1941 that made it illegal for any Soviet
Citizen (Soldier or Civilian, Man, Woman or Child) to “allow” themselves to be
captured by the Nazis.
Stalin issued Order No. 227 in 1942 which only reenforced the
punishments for any Soviet Citizen allowing themselves to be captured by the
Germans.
5.7 Million Soviet Soldiers became Prisoners-Of-War to the
Germans during World War 2 and 3.5 Million of those were murdered (by
starvation, in Gas Chambers, by shooting, etc.) Any of the 2.2 Million Soviet
POWs liberated by the Allies in 1945 and that went back to the Soviet Union
immediately went to a Soviet Gulag for several years for their “crime” of being
captured.
Of the 5.1 Million Soviet Jewish Men, Women and Children that
lived in German-Occupied Parts of the Soviet Union during World War 2 - 2.6 million of them were murdered by the
Germans (in Mass Graves, in Death Camps, in Ghettos, in the Gas Chambers, etc.)
The 2.5 Million Holocaust Survivors that returned to the Soviet Union – even from
the Death Camps – immediately went to the Soviet Gulags for their “crime” of
allowing themselves to be captured.
From 1945 until 1991 every Soviet Citizen (even in the Soviet
Republics not occupied by the Nazis) who were even 1 day old on May 9, 1945 (Victory
Day in the USSR) had to constantly fill a Questionnaire stating where they spent
the War. If they were in a German Concentration Camp, a German Ghetto, a German
Death Camp, doing Forced Labor in Nazi Germany or living under Nazi German
Occupation anywhere they were discriminated against when applying for: the
University, Vocational Schools, an International Passport, the Soviet Military,
the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, the required Propiska for an
apartment, ration books, etc.
You would think that things would change after Stalin died in
1953, but they didn’t. The official laws weren’t done away with until the 1993
Russian Constitution came into effect.
Getting back to Putin: In August 2009 the Russian Government
(Vladimir Putin) condemned the Soviet Union’s 1939-1941 Collaboration with Nazi
Germany as “immoral” yet he quickly changed his tone and started praising
Stalin and following the Nazis – including his Paramilitary Groups like the
Wagner Group.
Putin has used Hitler's Nazi Rulebook from Day 1 (in 2014
when he invaded, occupied, held a fake Referendum Vote and then annexed Crimea
- Hitler did the same to Austria in 1938.)
Add to that the Massacres -in Bucha, Ukraine and other War
Crimes the Russians are doing (including kidnapping Ukrainian Children and
forcibly turning them into Russians - the Germans did the same at Babyn Yar,
Ukraine and kidnaped Czech and Polish Children
to turn them into Germans during World War 2.)
We can only hope that Putin will continue to follow Hitler's
Rulebook to the very end since we all know what happens.
