Kyiv was founded in 482 (Moscow
was only founded in 1147 by Kyivan Rus which ruled until 1240.)
Kyiv and Ukraine survived the
Mongols, the Lithuanians (1569-1667), the Poles (1569-1667), the Czarist Russians
(1667-1917), the Soviet Communists (1918-1941), the German Nazis (1941-1943),
the Soviet Communists again (1945-1991), Putin’s Russians in Crimea (2014-Present)
and Putin’s Russians in the rest of Ukraine (February 22, 2022 – Present)
Kyiv was under Siege numerous
times: in 968, 1240, 1496 and 1500.
Kyiv was sacked several times: in
1169, 1171, 1204 and 1483.
Kyiv was under Kaiser German
Occupation from March – December 1918.
Kyiv was Captured by the Soviet
Communists on February 19, 1919; then Captured by the Russian White/Non-Communists
on August 31, 1919; then Recaptured by the Soviet Communists on December 16, 1919.
Kyiv was Captured by the Poles
and Anti-Communist Ukrainians on May 7, 1920 and Recaptured by the Soviet
Communists in July 1920.
Kyiv withstood the Holodomor
(Man-Made Famine by Stalin) from 1932-1933 – where 5 Million Ukrainians were
killed.
Kyiv was bombed (starting on June
22, 1941) and then occupied by the German Nazis from August 23, 1941 until November
6, 1943.
The Germans murdered 33,771
Jewish Men, Women and Children in Kyiv (at Babyn Yar) on September 29-30, 1941
and an additional 150,000 People until 1943.
Kyiv dealt with the Chernobyl
Nuclear Power Plant Explosion on April 26, 1986 (Chernobyl is only 58 miles
from Kyiv.) 100 people died directly and roughly 60,000 have died from radiation
exposure since 1986.
November 22, 2004 – January 23,
2005 the Orange Revolution occurred in Kyiv against massive Corruption.
November 21, 2013- February 23,
2014 EuroMaiden occurred in Kyiv against closer Russian Ties and for closer NATO
and European Union ties. 104 were killed and 1,900 were wounded by Yanukovych’s
Government. Yanukovych fled to Russia where he still lives.
Kyiv survived the Russian
invasion and occupation of Crimea (2014-Present)
Kyiv survived the Russian
invasion of the rest of Ukraine (including the Battle of Kyiv from February 25,
2022 – March 31, 2022 where 2 Million People fled Kyiv and the Russians killed
89 Civilians and 162 Soldiers.)
Kyiv has withstood constant Russian
bombings since February 22, 2022 with increased bombings of Infrastructure and Civilian
Areas: October 10-12, 2022; October 21-22, 2022; October 31, 2022; November 15,
2022; November 17, 2022 and since November 23, 2022
2022 Kyiv and Ukraine has
survived over 4,700 Russian missiles in the past 275 days.
Kyiv has survived and the Ukrainian
People continue to survive even as the Russians brutally attack them (with
bombs, bullets, drones and tanks), occupy parts of Ukraine (and rape, torture, kidnap
and murder Ukrainian Men, Women and Children) and while most of the country has
little to no Electricity or Water even as Winter’s Cold and Snow have arrived.
Kyiv has survived before, continues
to survive now and will survive the defeat of Russia and the downfall of Putin.
