Trump Call

From the BBC:
"Trump and Putin speak over the phone"

US President-elect Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin have had a telephone conversation, the Kremlin said. Mr Putin wished Mr Trump "success in implementing the election programme". The Russian leader added he was ready to engage in dialogue with the new administration based on "the principles of equality". Mr Trump has expressed admiration for Mr Putin, saying he "has been a leader far more than our president". Mr Putin in turn has called Mr Trump "a very outstanding person, talented without doubt". The Kremlin revealed the pair had discussed Syria and agreed that current Russian-US relations were "extremely unsatisfactory" during the phone call. They also talked about the fact 2017 marked 210 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the countries "which in itself should stimulate a return to pragmatic, mutually beneficial cooperation". Mr Putin and Mr Trump agreed to stay in touch by phone, and arrange to meet in person at a later date, the Kremlin added. Mr Trump's election has seen a change in tone from Russia towards the US, with state TV channels quickly switching from claims of fraud, to hailing the triumph of the "man of the people".

^ I just hope Trump doesn't simply give-up the Crimea, the Ukraine or anything else to Russia just to improve relations. Most of the world sees the invasion, occupation and annexation of the Crimea as illegal and shouldn't be simply allowed. It should be returned to the Ukrainians. ^
